Darkwave Family OS is in development. The app is not yet in the App Store and not yet on Google Play. We are building it and will write to you as soon as the first version is ready.

Family organiser · iOS and Android

A photo of the school letter. And the calendar is right again.

Darkwave Family OS reads school letters, screenshots and notes and turns them into appointments, deadlines and tasks. Every suggestion comes with the original line it came from, and you confirm it with one tap.

No advertising. No account required to try the basic features.

A school letter is read and produces an appointment with a task On the left a photographed school letter with a highlighted line. On the right a calendar entry for a parents evening on 17 November 2026 at 6 pm, and below it the task to hand in the form by 20 October. Parents evening high Task Evidence from the letter
This is what a suggestion looks like: the entry, and the line it was derived from.

The problem

Family life is organised. Just not in one app.

The information is sitting wherever nobody thought to look: on the fridge, in the class WhatsApp group, in the head of whoever is on their way to work. All of it matters, and none of it ends up in the right place.

The letter ends up anywhere

Parents evening, deadline, list of materials. Three appointments on a single sheet — and three appointments somebody has to remember. Usually whoever opened the letter first.

The question comes too late

Who is doing what by when? The answer is in the letter, but not in the calendar everyone can see. So people ask — and the question goes to whoever happens to be in a meeting.

Tasks evaporate

The deadline survives somewhere, the task itself belongs to nobody. What is left is a reminder two days late, when it suddenly turns out that the form is still missing.

Two calendars, no shared one

Whoever plans has to carry it in their head. Shared family calendars are rare, and a shared calendar usually needs one that both people will actually maintain — which is a small negotiation every time.

Life Inbox

One photo in, one tap, three things handled

The Life Inbox is where everything lands that arrives on paper, as a screenshot or as a note. It reads, it suggests, and you decide — not it.

  1. You take the photo

School letter, screenshot from the class group, a handwritten note, an invitation. Whatever is in front of you, as long as it can be read.

  2. It reads it

The app identifies appointments with date and time, deadlines, tasks and people. Every single detection carries a confidence level.

  3. You check the evidence

Every suggestion comes with the line in the original it came from. What cannot be evidenced is not suggested in the first place.

  4. You confirm

One tap, and the appointment, deadline and task are in the shared calendar. You leave out whatever does not fit.

If a letter contains a date but no time, the app asks instead of guessing. It does not fill in details just to make an entry look complete.

Family calendar

One calendar everyone is allowed in

Appointments, deadlines and tasks belong in the same overview. Each person gets their own colour, so at a glance it is clear who is meant — for a child just as much as for the family dog.

What the app is meant to show

  • Appointments with a timeParents evening, pickup, sport, dentist
  • All-day entriesHolidays, school day, public holiday — with no invented time
  • Tasks with an ownerWho is doing what, and by when
  • Profiles for everyone in the householdThe colour stays the same everywhere
  • OverlapsA suggestion when two appointments clash

Your calendars stay yours

The app reads only the calendars you select, and you decide for each one whether it gets shared. Nothing is transferred into a household without your confirmation.

Some of this is planned for the first version, some is not there yet. We will state in the app stores what is finished — and what is not.

Privacy and AI

Family data is not training material

A school letter contains names, addresses, health data, sometimes a date of birth and occasionally a diagnosis. That deserves care — and especially so when the technology would make it convenient not to.

What happens to your data

  • Processing in the EU Our servers are located in the European Union.
  • No training on your data We use the AI only to work out what you captured yourself.
  • No advertising, no selling There is no advertising in the app and no passing data to third parties for ad purposes.
  • The key stays with us The app holds no secrets; API keys live on the server only.
  • You can switch off cloud AI Planned: without cloud AI, the app only detects dates on the device.

Which categories of data are processed, for what purpose and by which service is set out in full in the AI disclosure and the privacy policy.

  • We are a small team. That is not a weakness — it is the reason we write all this down so precisely.
  • We name every place where a service could process something — including our own.
  • The source text of each detection stays with you, so you can check instead of trusting us.
  • Delete the account, take your data with you, object: there is a route inside the app for each of these.

About these prices. The amounts shown are our planned prices for Germany. The price shown to you before you confirm a purchase is always the one that counts.

Frequently asked questions

What you want to know before signing up

Is the app in the App Store yet?

No. Darkwave Family OS is in development and has not been released. We are keeping the waitlist together and will write to you as soon as it is.

What if the AI gets an appointment wrong?

It can. That is why nothing is taken over unchecked: every detection shows the line from the original it came from. If that evidence is missing, nothing is suggested and nothing is stored.

If the letter contains only a date and no time, the app asks. Guessing a time would be easier, and wrong.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Reading letters needs a connection, because the recognition runs on a server. Calendar, tasks and lists remain available offline and synchronise once you are back online.

An on-device mode for date recognition is also planned. It is not finished yet.

Does an AI model train on our letters?

No. We use a service which states that it neither uses the content passed to it for training nor stores it permanently. Our own commitment is: we pass nothing on to third parties for further processing, and we have a contract that governs deletion of the working copy.

That is a commitment and a contract, not a technical guarantee about how a third-party provider stores things. The details are in the AI disclosure.

Who can see my data?

In day-to-day life, nobody outside your household. We use two service providers: one for hosting, one for image recognition. Both process data only on our instructions and only for the stated purpose.

For the full list, the data processing agreements and the retention periods, see the privacy policy.

How do I cancel Family Pro?

In the settings of your store account, like for any subscription taken out there. One click, and you do not have to write an email. It does not renew on its own if you cancel beforehand.

What happens to my data if I leave?

Your account and the data belonging to it are deleted. What that means in detail, and what has to be kept for tax reasons, is set out on the delete account page.

Is the app available in other languages?

At launch there will be German and English. Translations for twelve further languages are prepared and will be switched on one by one.

Coming soon to iOS and Android

Darkwave Family OS has not been released yet. Instead of a download button that leads nowhere, there is a waitlist.
